The world is an unfortunately terrifying place; the massacres in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, the mass extinctions and destruction of the world that has housed us for hundreds of years. As we get older, these terrors become more apparent, and the world seems progressively less kind. While many of us draw away from our parent(s) at a certain age, the formative years with our parent(s) are palpable. These are often years filled with interactions with solely these people, that shape our personalities as we grow up.
However, some children never get the chance to have these years. By March 1, 2024, nearly two thousand children have been killed by the war in Ukraine, and over six times as many children have been killed in Gaza. This piece has been dedicated to the lives of children lost in the conflicts of Ukraine and Gaza.
